In the murder trial of Luka Magnotta, the so-called "Canadian Cannibal," jurors were shown gruesome crime scene photos of a blood-soaked apartment in Montreal and the tools he allegedly used to dismember a Concordia University student.
Prosecutors paraded numerous photos in open court, showing a blood-stained fridge and several tools —- an angle grinder, ice pick and knife -— allegedly used in the slaying and dismemberment of Jun Lina year-old student reported Missing on May Police in Montreal believe Magnotta murdered and sexually assaulted Jun on or about May 25, The murder and ensuing acts were allegedly captured on video and uploaded to a website, police said.
Canadian authorities said they have a longer version of the video, which indicates Magnotta may have cannibalized parts of his victim. Later that morning, authorities were called to the headquarters of the Conservative Party of Canada to investigate a suspicious package.
Inside, they found Lin's severed foot and a note, police said. A second body part -- Lin's severed hand -- was found that night inside a package at the Ottawa Postal Terminal that was addressed to the Liberal Party of Canada. Other body parts of Jun were found at the apartment building; his right hand and foot showed up at two Vancouver schools.

Harlequin ichthyosis is a very rare genetic disorder of the skin in which babies are born looking like this, with very hard, thick skin covering most of their bodies. I have never seen this in person at autopsy, but I have had a case once where a family had a baby with this and the baby died. The mom got pregnant again and then she had testing done while pregnant and found out the baby had this again and decided to terminate the pregnancy.
The skin forms large, diamond-shaped plates that are separated by deep cracks fissures. These skin abnormalities affect the shape of the eyelids, nose, mouth, and ears, and limit movement of the arms and legs. Restricted movement of the chest can lead to breathing difficulties and respiratory failure.
This condition is inherited and parents of an individual each carry one copy of the mutated gene, but they typically do not have Harlequin ichthyosis.
All of the children born to this couple do not have to have the condition, it is really a roll of the dice. The skin normally forms a protective barrier between the body and its surrounding environment. The skin abnormalities associated with harlequin ichthyosis disrupt this barrier, making it more difficult for affected infants to control water loss, regulate their body temperature, and fight infections.
Infants with harlequin ichthyosis often experience an excessive loss of fluids dehydration and develop life-threatening infections in the first few weeks of life. It used to be very rare for affected infants to survive the newborn period.
However, with intensive medical support and improved treatment, people with this disorder now have a better chance of living into childhood and adolescence. The disease can be diagnosed in the uterus by ultrasound and fetal skin biopsy or by morphologic analysis of amniotic fluid cells obtained by amniocentesis. This patient's landlord called police when they smelled what they thought was a "dead body" coming from the apartment.
There was no dead body. This person is very much alive and has one of the most common complications associated with diabetes, gangrene. Gangrene occurs when the arteries in the legs become too damages to deliver oxygenated blood to the toes and the leg. When oxygen can't get there the leg begins to die.
And dead tissue stinks the same as a dead body, nasty. This patient eventually got a leg amputation and is as good as new. Diabetes is no joke. Excess skin removed from a morbid obese patient post weight loss surgery. Often times, plastic surgery like this is one of the final steps in their journey of weight loss. Carrying around extra skin like this can be bulky, heavy and lead to skin infections. Furthermore- the presence of all of this skin can make the patient feel frustrated with their weight loss progress.Twenty-three-year-old Terrion Sherman is charged with murder for the domestic attack in St.
PAUL, Minn. FOX 9 - New charges detail a disturbing and bloody crime scene in St. Officers responded in the early morning hours of February 26 for calls reporting a domestic dispute inside an apartment on the block of Pierce Street. Police are investigating a homicide after a woman died following a domestic call early Wednesday morning in St.
At the apartment, St. Paul police reported hearing a small child crying and a man yelling: "Stay down or I will kill you.
Police called out to the man and announced their presence, but say no one approached the door. When the child stopped crying, officers say they forced their way into the apartment, fearing the boy had been hurt. According to the charges, inside they were met with a shocking scene: the suspect, year-old Terrion Sherman of Minneapolis, was covered in blood standing above the body of a woman. The woman was lying face down, also covered with blood, with serious injuries to her face, and didn't appear to be breathing.
Next to her body, police say was a two-year-old boy who also had blood on his face, body, pants, and shoes who officers quickly removed from the scene. Police said the boy was not seriously hurt. Investigators say Sherman followed police orders and was quickly taken into custody. But, according to the charges, as he was being taken to jail, Sherman broke out the back window of the police squad and said he was on drugs.
Back at the scene, officers say the woman, later identified as year-old Abigail Simpson, was pronounced dead. A knife was found next to her body. An autopsy later determined Simpson died from multiple injuries from a beating and stabbing. Speaking with police, Sherman said he had been at Simpson's apartment with her and his nephew when he said his nephew "became possessed as a dog.
According to the charges, Sherman said the two argued and Simpson grabbed a knife and came at him. In response, Sherman punched her in the head about eight times against a cast iron radiator.
He then claimed he blacked out and didn't remember stabbing her. When police asked if he was using medications, police say Sherman told them he had been prescribed drugs, but said he "does not need them because he is not crazy. Police update as hunt continues for 'machete-wielding man' in Barnsley Barnsley.By Keri Blakinger and Brian Rogers. The year-old Houston man accused of decapitating his mother Friday was already out on bail for allegedly punching the year-old in the face earlier this year, court records show. Kyriakos Savvas Georghiou was charged with murder and aggravated assault following the west Houston knife attack that left his mother dead and his father wounded in the hospital.
The son allegedly stabbed his parents inside their Westella home sometime around p. By the time patrol officers rushed to the home in response to an assault call, they found paramedics treating the elderly man for multiple stab wounds. He was rushed to the hospital and taken to intensive care. Meanwhile, the suspected assailant exited the home with two knives and quietly surrendered, police said Monday. But once officers were finally able to get inside the house, they found the body of Jane Georghiou.
The woman's head was "completely separated from her body," according to court records. He is currently being held in the county jail without bail, according to online records. He did not appear to have an attorney as of Monday morning. The accused killer has a long arrest record in Harris County, including drug and robbery charges, one of which netted a three-year prison sentence in Then inGeorghiou was arrested for injury to elderly after he punched his mother in the face and broke two of her teeth.
Afterward, Georghiou took a plea bargain including three years of prison time, to run concurrently with another sentence. His mother was sitting in the passenger seat of her son's car in early April when he allegedly reached over and punched her in the mouth, knocking out a tooth, she later told police.
Georghiou's sister told responding officers that her brother didn't have any mental health problems and had previously assaulted his mother - but the elderly woman hadn't called police because she didn't want her son arrested. He was still out on bail when police say he killed her. Following the latest attack, his father requested an emergency protective order, court documents show.

If convicted of attempted murder, he could face life in prison, media reports say. The footage, obtained by Fox2Detroitshows year-old Paul Bashi punching, kicking and throwing lit candles at year-old Kristina Perry inside his rental home in Washington Township in late July.
At one point in the video, his arm is covered in blood as he heaves a canister at Perry, who is pressed up against a wall and a couch. She should have died that day, judge.
Investigators that responded to the home after the attack were reported to have found cocaine, marijuana, methamphetamine, ecstasy and a substance that contains human growth hormone. County prosecutors say Perry was kicked more than times and was stabbed repeatedly during the minute assault. Perry has recovered after being in a coma for days — but then appeared this week at the hearing to ask for the charges against Bashi to be dropped.
The judge handling the case reportedly referred the matter to Macomb County Community Corrections and asked the agency to investigate further.
