This TV is no exception and it delivers outstanding picture quality. It doesn't get any better if you like to watch TV in the dark, where black is black, period. That said, it may not be as good a choice to use as a monitor or for long gaming sessions, as those usage scenarios often involve a lot of static user interface elements that are displayed for an extended period.
LG has implemented some measures to prevent burn-in, such as screen savers and ABL Auto Brightness Limiterbut some may find the latter a little too aggressive. On the bright side, this TV performs great in a bright room thanks to its excellent reflection handling and decent peak brightness. Motion handling is also outstanding thanks to the nearly instantaneous response time, which, coupled with low input lag and support for variable refresh rate, makes it an excellent TV for gamers.
Overall, this is an excellent TV for a wide variety of uses, and it should satisfy anyone looking for the best 55" TV. If you don't mind spending a bit more to get the latest and greatest features, go with the B9, but if you want a TV that will perform equally as amazing for most uses but costs a bit less, get the B8. It has a full-array local dimming feature and it can get extremely bright to make highlights pop in HDR content.
It has decent viewing angles for a VA panel due to its 'Ultra Viewing Angle' layer and its reflection handling is outstanding, making it a good choice for bright rooms.
Lastly, Samsung's Tizen OS is very user-friendly and there are a ton of apps available through the app store. Overall, the LG offers a better viewing experience, but if you want to avoid any risk of burn-in, then the Samsung is a better choice.
This TV stands out not only for its outstanding out-of-the-box color accuracy, but also for its exceptional peak brightness, especially in HDR mode. Combined with its wide color gamut, it delivers HDR content with vibrant colors and bright highlights. This TV has a fast response time that results in clear images and very little motion blur.
Most gamers should be satisfied with its Hz refresh rate and low input lag, but there's no support for FreeSync. If you want to use the TV as a monitor, it can display most common resolutions as well as chromawhich is great for text clarity.
50 Inch TVs
When it comes to streaming services, you should be able to find nearly anything you want from the Google Play Store. Since this TV runs on Android, you can also interact with it through the Google Assistant, allowing you to control the TV, search for content, or ask for info such as the time or the weather.
All in all, if you want accurate color reproduction but you don't plan on having the TV calibrated, then go with this TV. It has very similar overall performance to the Sony XG ; however, it has a slightly lower input lag and it supports variable refresh rate technology for a nearly tear-free gaming experience. There's also an 'Auto Low Latency Mode' which will save you the trouble of having to change picture mode every time that you want to game, though it only works with compatible gaming consoles like the Xbox One.
If you like gaming in the dark, its contrast ratio and black uniformity are significantly better, but it can't reproduce colors as accurately as the Sony. If color accuracy is more important, then the Sony is still a better choice; otherwise, the Samsung provides a better gaming experience as long as you're okay with a less accurate picture.
Unfortunately, like most VA panels, viewing angles are rather poor, which isn't ideal for wide seating arrangements or for watching a big game with friends. On the bright side, this TV runs on Android TV, which means that you have access to a very wide variety of apps, and the TV can be voice-controlled via the Google Assistant from your smart speaker. Overall, this TV is a great choice for a wide range of uses, and it far outperforms its relatively low price point.
If you're looking for a great budget TV, this is one of the best TVs that we've tested and is highly recommended. If you're shopping with a very limited budget, then consider the Hisense 55H8F.
It may not be as decked out as its big brother, the Hisense H9Fbut it performs remarkably well nonetheless. Surprisingly, this TV has better black uniformity than its sibling, making it a great choice for dark room viewing. The full array local dimming is passable, but viewing angles are disappointing, as it uses a VA panel as well. Overall, if you watch a lot of HDR content or want something with faster response time, the H9F is a better choice, but if you want an even cheaper TV that still performs great for most uses, go for the H8F.

Currently, when you go to shop for a television, you will hear all about Smart TV, a technological convergence between a television set, computer and a set-top box.
Apart from the regular features of any regular TV, a Smart TV has built-in internet capabilities but no matter how enticing it sounds, it is not a practical choice because it is rather costly considering its limited features.
Therefore, it is wiser to invest on a Smart TV alternative which is so far a more adaptable innovation. However, manufacturers rarely release new models in this size. At this size, its 4k resolution is perfect for those who like to sit up close. It delivers a good picture quality thanks to its high contrast ratio, excellent motion handling, and wide color gamut. If you tend to watch in a bright room, this TV has decent peak brightness and reflection handling. That said, it can't get bright enough to bring out highlights in HDR content.
The downside is that it has a maximum refresh rate of 60Hz and it doesn't support any variable refresh rate technology. You can also use this TV as a large monitor, as it can display chroma properly, which is important for text clarity.
Although this TV has good reflection handling, it's better suited for dark rooms, as its peak brightness is rather low. Also, it has excellent color accuracy right out of the box, so you won't have to pay for a costly calibration. This TV has some decent gaming chops as well, with a low response time and low input lag, but it doesn't support any advanced gaming features such as variable refresh rate technology.
Roku's interface is user-friendly, and you can easily find almost anything that you need through its app store. Its picture quality is decent, and it delivers nice deep blacks in a dark room, thanks to its high native contrast ratio.
Unfortunately, it seems to be getting more difficult to find available, though that may change. It can get fairly bright in SDR and you shouldn't have any issues unless you have a very bright room.
Its native contrast ratio also isn't very high, so blacks tend to appear more grey in a dark room, though this is expected for a TV with an IPS panel. On the upside, it has good reflection handling, good viewing angles thanks to its IPS panel, a fast response time for crisp motion, and low input lag for a responsive gaming experience.
However, this TV has no support for HDR, can't display deep blacks in a dark room, and can't get very bright, so you shouldn't place it in a bright room.
